• JAPAN: According to a report in the Nikkei, Keio University researchers have succeeded in regenerating part of the mechanism that produces hair, using human stem cells. The research team reportedly employed induced pluripotent stem cells. From those cells, the team grew precursor cells to keratinocytes, a type of skin cell that forms hair follicles, which produce hair, and then blended the precursor cells with mouse cells that stimulate hair production.
